Typical Instrument & Small-Control Applications

These uses help assess suitability; they are not completed project references.

Equipment operation

Arrange instruments, pushbuttons, indicators and controller interfaces to operating needs.

Process measurement

Select instruments and signal interfaces for tasks such as temperature, pressure and flow measurement.

Status display

Configure display instruments and electrical-parameter monitoring as required; confirm field signal sources separately.

Small control assemblies

Define enclosure and terminal layout from device dimensions, wiring and operating space.

Parameters & Configuration

Options follow manual pages 30–31. Power and signals must match the selected devices; instrument, interface and protection options are not all included or supported by default.

Parameters & Configuration
ItemListed options / configurationTo confirm for the project
Assembled supply voltageDC 24 V / AC 220 V / AC 230 VOther voltages follow selected devices and scheme. Empty enclosures have no complete-equipment voltage or current ratings.
AC supply frequency50 / 60 Hz (AC only)Frequency does not apply to DC supply; AC frequency is not assigned to DC.
Instrument configurationTemperature, pressure, flow and electrical-parameter instrumentsSelected to measurement tasks; not all instruments or field sensors are included by default.
Signal interfacesDiscrete / 4–20 mA / 0–10 V / communication signalsConfirm selected devices, signal specifications and interface requirements; not all signal types are supported by default.
InstallationWall-mounted / recessed / bracket-mountedOther methods are project-specific.
Degree of protectionIP40 / IP54 / IP55 / IP65Confirm specific construction, openings, installation and operating environment; other ratings require assessment.
Thickness options1.0 / 1.2 / 1.5 / 2.0 mmBody, front panel and mounting plate are confirmed separately; other thicknesses are project-specific.
Material & surface treatmentCold-rolled steel / galvanized steel / stainless steelMaterial, compatible finish and colour are project-specific.
Panel & internal constructionInstrument cut-outs, pushbuttons, indicators, mounting plate and terminalsLayout, dimensions and included items follow confirmed drawings and lists.
Dimensions & cable entryWidth × height × depth, in mmDefined by device dimensions, wiring, operating space and interfaces.

Signal types do not establish measurement accuracy or an instrument-calibration commitment. Confirm instrument models, interfaces and check conditions separately.

Final parameters, configuration and scope of supply are subject to the confirmed drawings and order agreement.

Empty & Assembled Supply Scope

Empty enclosure

Mechanical enclosure for subsequent instrument installation.

  • Body, front panel, mounting plate, locks and mechanical accessories follow the list.
  • Panel cut-outs, mounting and cable interfaces follow confirmed drawings.
  • Instruments, controllers, sensors, terminals and internal wiring are not included by default.

Assembled instruments / controllers

Assembly follows the confirmed device list and drawings.

  • Instruments, controllers, pushbuttons, indicators and terminals are selected as required.
  • Internal mounting and wiring follow electrical and panel-layout drawings.
  • Specify individually whether sensors, field cables, external equipment and accessories are included.

Interfaces & Additional Scope

Instrument calibration, metrological certification, control programs, site commissioning and complete system integration are not included by default. Related work, external equipment, interfaces and deliverables follow the list and explicit agreement.

Define Needs from Instruments & Panel Drawings

Provide measurement / display tasks and installation conditions to define devices, signals, enclosure and supply boundaries.

You provide

  • Quantity, instrument / controller list and empty or assembled supply.
  • Power supply, signal types and specifications, communications and equipment interfaces.
  • Panel cut-out drawings, mounting method, width × height × depth and operating space.
  • Material, protection requirements, environment, cable entry and external-equipment list.

GoodQi confirms

  • Instrument selection, power / signal compatibility, terminals and wiring configuration.
  • Panel cut-outs, internal layout, thicknesses by part and mounting interfaces.
  • Included sensors, field cables, external equipment and related work.
  • Confirmed drawings, supply list, functional-check scope, test conditions and delivery documents.

Use Additional Requirements for instrument tasks, signals and installation needs. After preparing the draft, attach device lists, panel cut-out drawings and wiring information in your email app.

Quality Checks & Delivery Documents

Incoming, assembly and outgoing checks follow the confirmed product configuration and order scope.

Checks for the supplied equipment

Empty-enclosure mechanical checks
Check dimensions, panel cut-outs, finish, assembly, locks and accessory completeness against drawings.
Assembled wiring & functional checks
Check devices, terminals and internal wiring for the supplied configuration. Functional checks follow the agreed scope, input signals and test conditions.

Documents agreed for the project

  • Panel, outline and mounting drawings
  • Agreed device and supply lists
  • Wiring and interface drawings where applicable
  • Records of agreed mechanical, wiring and functional checks

Documents and check scope follow the order agreement. Box functional checks are not sensor calibration, metrological certification or site system commissioning.

Instrument Control Box FAQ

Does an empty box carry DC24V or AC-frequency ratings?

No complete-equipment electrical ratings are specified for empty supply. DC24V / AC220V / AC230V apply to assembled configurations confirmed against devices. 50/60Hz applies only to AC; no frequency is assigned to DC.

Are all instruments, sensors and signal interfaces included?

Not by default. Temperature, pressure, flow and electrical-parameter instruments are selected to the task. Discrete, 4–20mA, 0–10V and communication signals depend on devices and interfaces; field sensors are listed separately.

How does this differ from a PLC control cabinet?

This page focuses on panel mounting and wiring for instrument display, monitoring and small controllers. PLC cabinets focus on I/O acquisition, logic control and equipment interlocking. Where both are involved, confirm devices and system interfaces for the project.

Do functional checks include calibration or site commissioning?

Not by default. Box functional checks are limited to the agreed scope and test conditions; they are not sensor calibration, metrological certification or site system commissioning.

How do I enquire about an instrument control box?

The quote button preselects this product. Enter instruments, power, signals and mounting needs, prepare the draft, then attach panel drawings and device information in your email app and review before sending.
